Empower the Arab-American Community Through Music Education
CAC is Proud to Announce The Establishment of a Scholarship Fund for the CAC Youth Orchestra Program.
Application is Now Open
Scholarship Fund Goal
The goal of the fund is to support Arab-American youth to join the program and learn Arab and Eastern-Mediterranean music in an orchestral setting.
The Fund supports Arab-American youth from all backgrounds to study and perform Arab music in an interactive group environment, learning from a line-up of award-winning artists, placing the highest priority on new immigrants.
The orchestra brings the youth closer to the roots of Arab music in both traditional and non-traditional formats. It is a space where they build their character, meet other peers, appreciate and play Arab music and develop the skills they will need to become future leaders in their fields.
While the Orchestra Program is open to all members of the community regardless of their background, race or national origin, the goal of this scholarship is to empower and engage the Arab-American community as an under-represented community of color, giving it a better access to music education.
The CAC scholarship awarded is in the amount of $300/student and will be awarded to 3 students only to cover part of the Orchestra tuition of $1000/ student for the program period between December 2020 and May 2021.
The scholarship fund will make all grant distributions as a credit discounted from the total tuition amount.
The first half of the scholarship will be applied to the first part of the tuition, once the student joins the program in December 2020. The second half of the scholarship will be applied on February 1, 2021, deducted once the second part of the tuition is due.
For 2020/ 2021 school year, currently enrolled students cannot apply for this scholarship. They can apply for future scholarships if available.
