UNPAID INTERNSHIPS

These positions are unpaid and require a commitment of 5-10 hours/week throughout the semester.

Hours are negotiable and flexible. Internships can be renewed for another semester.

A letter of recommendation and certificate of completing an internship will be provided.

Speaking the Arabic language is not required.

Events Intern

The Center for Arabic Culture is looking for an Events Intern for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. The intern must have a deep interest in the nonprofit world and the Arabic Culture. He/she will work along with the Executive Director on organizing and implementing the Center's events. This will include a thorough work on planning, marketing and outreach for CAC events.  All candidates should have solid writing and proofreading abilities in English, research experience, and good computer skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the logistics, planning, and the execution of 2 major fundraising events
  • Assisting in community outreach planning.
  • Assist in organizing the CAC's events.
  • Assist in Planning for the CAC's Annual Cultural Month.
  • General Office work.

Fundraising and Grants Research Intern

The Center for Arabic Culture is looking for a Fundraising and Grants Research Intern for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. The intern must have a deep interest in the nonprofit world and Arabic culture. He/she will work along with the Executive Director on researching various grants and explore new and innovative fundraising methods. All candidates should have solid writing and proofreading abilities, research experience, and good computer skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Plan for minimum of two fundraising events/ year.
  • Research applicable and suitable grants and giving foundations.
  • Assist in gathering information that assist in grant writing.
  • Research the best practices in fundraising and grant writing.
  • Assist in Planning for the CAC Annual Cultural Month.
  • General Office work.

Program Evaluation Intern

The Center for Arabic Culture is looking for a Program Evaluation Intern for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. The intern must have a deep interest in the Arabic Culture and the nonprofit world. He/she will work along with the Executive Director on variety of tasks to support the CAC's work in evaluation, surveys and program analysis. All candidates should have solid writing and proofreading abilities, research experience, and good computer skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing surveys for the Center's programs and the CAC Arabic School.
  • Data collection through programing and surveys.
  • Data analysis.
  • Developing charts, figures, and slides,and preparing manuscripts.
  • Work along with the team to identify best practices for program implementation.
  • Assist in organizing the CAC events.
  • General Office work.

Program Development Intern

The Center for Arabic Culture is looking for a Program Development Intern for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. The intern must have a deep interest in Arabic culture and the nonprofit world. He/she will work along with the Executive Director on creating and implementing the Center's events. All candidates should have solid writing and proofreading abilities, and good communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the logistics, planning, and execution of 2 major fundraising events.
  • Work with the Executive Director on establishing new programs.
  • Plan and implement events at the Center's headquarters and the CAC Arabic School.
  • Assist in planning and implementing the CAC Annual Cultural Month.
  • General Office work.

Marketing and Outreach Intern- Position is Closed

The intern must be studying business and/or marketing or have a business and marketing background. He/she must have a deep interest in the nonprofit world and Arabic culture.

The intern will work under the supervision of the executive director on implementing the recommendations of the CAC marketing committee. His/ her work will focus on increasing outreach, cultivating relations with donors, and searching for new resources and innovative marketing methods. In addition, he/she will work on social media ads like Facebook, Google, and Twitter, and CAC Arabic School outreach planning. The marketing intern’s mission will cover CAC's events like Arabic School related projects, the annual crowd funding campaign and spring festival.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Marketing and advertisement for 2 major fundraising events.
  • Assist the Executive Director in implementing the CAC Marketing Committee recommendations.
  • Assisting in community outreach planning.
  • Assist in implementing plans to raise awareness about the Arabic Culture and the Arab-American Experience.
  • Advertise the events at the CAC's headquarters and events at the CAC Arabic School.
  • Comes up with creative ways to work with social media
  • Research Marketing Grants
  • Assist in Planning, implementing, and advertise for the CAC Annual Cultural Month.

The intern will work 12 hours a week.

The duration of the internship is: 6 months and can be renewed.

The Intern should have solid writing and proofreading abilities, research experience, and computer skills.

Working Hours are flexible and should be a resident of Massachusetts.

A letter of recommendation and certificate of completing an internship will be provided.

Arabic Language Teaching Position

The Center for Arabic Culture (CAC) is seeking an Arabic Language teacher with experience to work with our CAC Arabic School students in our school in Chestnut Hill, MA.  We are seeking a teacher to teach Arabic as a second language (ASL), has experience and passion for motivating students, and willing to commit to our school standards.

Classroom hours are Sundays from 1:30- 3:00 pm and 3:30pm- 5:00pm (two classes), following the CAC School calendar
Classroom Duties Include:

  • Follow the school curriculum with an ability to enrich it and create in-class activities.
  • Communicate with parents about students’ performance in class.
  • Send homework each week.
  • Keep track of students’ work during the year to provide a credible assessment about each student's yearly performance.

Required Education:
Bachelor Degree

Professional Requirements:

  • The teacher must be a native Arabic speaker and fluent in English.
  • Teaching experience is required.
  • Teaching Arabic as a second language certificate is preferred.
  • Has an experience working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Comfortable working in a team teaching atmosphere with other teachers.
  • Experience in creating, enriching, engaging, and rigorous learning experiences to support student success.
  • Has a desire and ability to build relationships with students, tutors, and parents quickly and easily.
  • Sense of humor and positive attitude absolutely critical.
